A Baldwin entry awning is a wall-mounted pergola structure designed to fill the space above a doorway or garage with architectural presence and permanent quality. Built from the same pultruded fiberglass as our full pergolas, every awning is rot-proof, insect-proof, and dimensionally stable — finished in Benjamin Moore paint to any color you specify.
Structural Brace System: Each awning is supported by two CNC-machined fiberglass braces. Each brace consists of a flat 2×8 wall plate, an arched diagonal support member, and two 2×8 horizontal beams projecting perpendicular from the wall to carry the rafters. No steel hardware exposed to the elements. No rot. No maintenance.
Integrated Lighting: We prewire every awning with your choice of lighting. Our factory standard includes two 4" cylindrical exterior downlights with a dusk-to-dawn switch wired into the top of the brace assembly. All wiring runs inside the hollow fiberglass pultrusions — completely concealed from view.
Mounted above our own factory's steel entry door — this is the product in its real-world setting, against painted block. Two structural braces, three cove-cut rafters, and two prewired downlights.
Every rafter tail is CNC-machined with a cove cut profile — a detail that sets our awnings apart from flat-cut alternatives and gives each installation a finished, architectural look.
The two structural braces project real depth from the wall, creating genuine shade over the entry and an architectural presence that transforms an ordinary doorway into a featured element.
Looking straight up: two 4" white cylindrical exterior fixtures are evenly spaced across the brace assembly. A dusk-to-dawn switch is factory-wired into the top of the brace. All wiring runs inside the hollow pultrusions — nothing exposed.
At dusk, the switch activates automatically. Our 2700K LED bulbs deliver a warm, welcoming golden light that pools beneath the awning — the kind of entry that makes a lasting first impression.

Every awning ships as a precision kit with labeled parts and complete hardware. Our prewiring means your electrician only needs to make the final connection at the breaker — no field wiring inside the structure.
Every brace is hand-assembled at the factory before shipping. Scott is fitting the arched diagonal support into the wall plate — precision CNC notching ensures a perfect mechanical interlock, no guesswork required.
A can light is wired at the factory before the brace ships. All conductors run inside the hollow fiberglass pultrusions. By the time the kit arrives at your site, the wiring is done — your electrician just completes the final connection.
Both braces are bolted to the wall plate and plumbed level before the beams are dropped in. At this stage you can see the structural grid taking shape — clean, confident, and rock-solid.
Side profile: the arched diagonal support member is clearly visible, carrying the load from the projecting 2×8 beams back to the 2×8 flat wall plate. Two braces, two beams — a system designed to span any standard entry width.
Three rafters now span the two braces. The structural frame is complete and prefinished. From here it's only a matter of adding the lighting lead — the hard work is already done at the factory.

Tom PetitMatt, I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with the new pergola. As a woodworker I appreciate the precision and thoroughness of the kit. I installed the cement pads the previous weekend and did the entire remaining installation in about 6 hours the following weekend with one helper. Very nice looking and I know I am going to enjoy the long term benefits of using a fiberglass products. I will send you a photo as soon as I finish the 10' dining table and benches that I am building to complete the pergola/dining area.

Found on Yelp.comhere is nowhere to buy wooden outdoor furniture of the same quality and for the same price. Nowhere! I own at least 8 pieces of Baldwin lawn furniture: two picnic tables with benches, a loveseat, two gorgeous adirondack chairs and a couple of other misc. tables and chairs by the pool. This furniture is so sturdy and dependable - and the design is fabulous! Check out their website, or sit in the furniture in person at North Cove Outfitters in Old Saybrook or at Baldwin in Middletown. You will be 100% sold. Our pieces have weathered wonderfully, and we leave them out year round. In the spring we pull them into the driveway one day and give them a good wash and put a quick restain on them. This is MINIMAL work, I assure you. And the furniture receives compliments from our guests year after year. This is a great family company with a great product. GREAT!
